Elephants' pregnancies last a huge 22 months, so this little one is sure to have been long anticipated!

Keeping close to his mother's side, the sweet animal was introduced to the public yesterday (21 July) and we can imagine he went down a storm with visitors.

Despite looking teeny-tiny next to his mum, this little fella weighs approximately 80kg - around the same as an adult human!

Currently unnamed, the calf will join the rest of the herd, including dad, Upail, in the Kaziranga Forest trail.

Zoo assistant director Paul O'Donoghue, said: "We are absolutely thrilled with our new arrival. The calf was born within three minutes and after eight minutes he was up and taking his first steps."
