Some days, we all rely on a coffee or a chocolate bar to keep us going, but how much do you reckon it costs you in the long term?

Well, new research has revealed that workers spend a massive £2,500 a year on snacking alone!

Basing it on an average of £10.59 a day, it found that those who travel for their jobs will spend this hefty amount on food and treats.

Purchases such as hot drinks, lunch and afternoon snacks all contributed to this large amount of money.

The survey of 2,100 Brits by Visa Contactless also discovered that a third of those don't factor this cost in to their budget, despite it adding up to a huge chuck of their salaries.

It also found that just over half of Londoners used cash to buy lunch, whereas 81 per cent in Glasgow opted for this method.
