Pet parrot Slipmatt whistled the iconic footie tune 'The Great Escape' and cheered on Rooney during England's first match against Italy.
His owner, Fran Sheridan and son Reilly, six, spent five weeks teaching their bird the famous football song and now the African Grey won't keep quiet.
Fran, 42, explained to the Daily Express that on Saturday's game: "He could hear me and Reilly shouting at the TV and he kept chanting 'England' and shouting 'Come on, Rooney' whenever Wayne's name was mentioned."
He added: "However, it didn't help when he was squeaking 'The Great Escape' all day after we lost though."
The feathered footie fan is also Rooney's number one supporter.
Fran admitted: "We've tried teaching him a few other players like Sturridge and Gerrard but he seems to like Rooney the most."
A video of Slipmatt getting patriotic has been uploaded to YouTube, where his squawks have racked up over 6,000 views.
Let's hope his cheering helps England's chances tomorrow!
