Talk about a kitchen nightmare!

Cameron Robertson was training to be a chef when he was forced to give up on his dream job - after he discovered he was allergic to knives and forks!

Cameron is allergic to the elements in most metals

The 21-year-old from Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, started to come out in a rash over his hands and forearms after he'd started his course, but had no idea why.

When the redness continued, Cameron decided to take a trip to his GP.

He told The Daily Star: "Doctors would prescribe creams and lotions, but after a while I asked to get tested to see what was causing it. That's when I found out I was allergic to metal."

But if you're thinking what we're thinking, Cameron does use cutlery to eat his own meals. It is only extended use that causes a reaction.

He said: "I can use cutlery to eat a meal, but if I was to be using it all day, that would cause an allergic reaction."

Even though his dreams of becoming the next Gordon Ramsey seem to have "forked" up, all is not lost for Cameron, as he is now working as a care assistant.
