He walked away unscathed, after a plane came into land just inches above his body!
The near-miss took place in Heligoland, Germany, after pilot Juergen Drucker messed up his landing and had to perform an emergency one instead.
A witness, Uwe Kaiser, told The Sun how the fortunate man had spotted the plane and thrown himself down to save himself.
He said: "He turned to look, then instantly flung himself down into the sand. It was really close."
Thankfully, the man survived unharmed.
The 52-year-old from Dortmund said: "I am really sorry. I didn't see him and I'm grateful I didn't land on him."
Talk about a close shave!
