We all know that one of the worst things that can go missing is a camera - losing all those lovely photos and memories is devastating.

So Danielle Boylan must be ecstatic to be reunited with a camera she dropped in a river a year ago - and to find her pictures are still intact!

The 43-year-old from Stratford-upon-Avon was taking a stroll along the River Avon last year with her young nephew, and the pair had taken along her mum Mandy's camera.

But when the youngster slipped, she dashed to stop him falling and dropped the snapper into the water.

A year later, she heard that contractors were dredging up the river and asked them to keep a look out for the missing device.

Unbelievably, after just the first scoop the gadget emerged. And, even better, the memory card was dry and still contained all of the missing pictures, including ones of birthdays and family days out.

Danielle told The Sun: "I was completely gobsmacked – it's a miracle.

"We were devastated when we lost it – people kept telling me it was lost for ever."
