Because when her owner, four-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo, was attacked by a pooch, the brave kitty didn't hesitate to step in!
Jeremy was playing on his trike outside his house in California when his neighbour's labrador-chow cross breed attacked him, dragging him to the floor.
His mum, Erica, tried to step in but Scrappy, bit her too.
It wasn't until tabby Tara charged at the eight-month-old puppy that he was finally scared into running off.
Now who looks like the scaredy cat?
Jeremy was left needing 10 stitches and was grateful for his pet's protection. He said: "My kitty's my hero."
Dad Roger said: "It was really heartwarming how Tara instinctively ran to the rescue."
Scrappy's own took him to the dog pound and after 10 days quarantine, he will be put down.
The attack - and rescue - was captured on the family's surveillance video and has now gone viral.
