Dogs are often dubbed as men's best friend and this is definitely true for Sharon Brookes – whose dog has saved her life twice in four years!

Judy, a labrador-spaniel cross, may just be one of Britain's cleverest canines after her heroic actions.

Judy, seven, first came to the rescue in 2010 when her 61-year-old owner fell into a diabetic coma and the loyal pooch ran to another room and barked at a visitor – who then saved Sharon with chocolate.

And more recently, she was there for Sharon, from Herefordshire, when started choking on a piece of toast. Judy "whacked" Sharon on the back with a paw – resulting in the food being dislodged.

Sharon said to the Daily Mirror: "She is a hero. I owe her my life."

What a clever pet!
