Moved by his pupil's plight, dedicated Ray decided to sign up to be a donor.

After being declared a match, the pair underwent the transplant at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital and the two are now recovering after their operations.

The superstar dad-of-one, said to the Daily Star: "I just knew it was the right thing to do."

Alya's dad, Ahmed Ali, 47 says, "He's an amazing man. We owe him so much."
