Do you ever find yourself feeling peckish but can't seem to decide on whether you want something sweet or savoury?

Well now that problem is solved thanks to the Aromafork – a new gadget that adds flavour to food by releasing a flavoured scent as you are eating.

Some of the 21 diverse scents to choose from include chocolate, coffee, strawberry, ginger, coconut, passion fruit, coriander, wasabi, mint and truffle.

The clever utensil has a built-in section for the chosen scent. Users drop a small part of the liquid onto absorbent paper and then place it inside the compartment.

Aromafork has been launched by Canadian food gadget company Molecule-R and the kit, which costs around £36, can be purchased online.

Sophie Boivin, from Molecule –R, said: "It is a great way to try two flavours together but because one is going on the tongue and the other is being picked up by the nose it makes it a different experience altogether.

"It was designed to be used at dinner parties and is a great way to socialise, experiment and get people talking."
