Amelia Boomker, 36, has given away a massive 482 litres over five years – this equates to around 850 pints!
The mum-of-four started donating her milk soon after she gave birth to her first son, Danny, in 2008. As he was born with a congenital heart defect, Danny was tube-fed for the first six months of his life, but wasn't drinking much of the milk that Amelia was pumping.
Nurses at Hope Children's Hospital suggested the idea to the Bolingbrook mum and Amelia started to donate the remaining milk to Wakemed Mother's Milk Bank in North Carolina.
Not stopping there, Amelia continued to give away her milk each time one of her further three sons were born. She would store it in freezers and then send it over to the Indiana Mothers' Milk Bank – a charity that provides donor milk to hospitals throughout Indiana and the Midwest.
The dedicated world record breaker would set her alarm throughout the night to pump the milk and even took conference calls for her IT job from the lactation room!
Amelia was quoted in The Sun talking about her generous donation: "I knew I could help others and did not want to see it wasted."
