Nicole Hassall, 18, was so desperate for Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter to be crowned queen of the jungle that she voted 2,316 times over a period of six hours.
When Lucy was booted on Saturday night, losing her coronation spot to Westlife singer Kian Egan, Nicole was left with nothing but a broken heart and a weighty debt.
The college student's mum, Eileen, was quoted in the Daily Mail explaining that Nicole had gone up to her room to vote for her favourite after Wednesday night's show: "She said she had made a couple of calls over a few hours.
It's never happened before and Nicole just thought she was using up the minutes she gets on her contract. She didn't know what she had done."
Nicole's phone was eventually blocked by Orange, who has since reduced the bill to £690.
To help her mum pay off the debt, Nicole has donated the £250 her father had given her as a Christmas present. The teenager was quoted in The Sun explaining her mistake,"I had no idea the bill would be this much. I'm really upset."
Nicole's help leaves £440 outstanding, which is far from ideal at such an expensive time of year.
Eileen believes Orange should have done more to warn her daughter of the charges she was racking up. However a spokesperson for the company said: "To help customers avoid high charges from voting lines we terminated each of the calls after six seconds.
"However, as the customer in this instance continued to call the number for several hours additional charged were incurred."
