A cheeky student has pocketed £2,600 for himself after selling David Beckham's tuxedo that had been donated to charity.

Jordan Silverstone picked up the dinner jacket at a charity shop in London's Chelsea, which had received donations from the Beckhams, to raise money for the victims of the recent Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Not actual tuxedo

The 22-year-old spent £125 on Beckham's old tuxedo, which is from the exclusive Savile Row in London, before flogging it on eBay for a hefty profit.

However, the Nottingham University student has dismissed those who have criticised the sale, saying it is "absolute nonsense".

Jordan was quoted in The Sun defending his actions. Referring to his own purchase of the jacket in the charity shop, he said: "It's a bit rich anyone having a go at someone for donating to charity."
