Yesterday, we told how the first 'chick-lit' book for chickens has hit the shelves, and now a hotel has opened for hens!
Fowlty Towers, exclusively for females, gives hens a place to stay while their owners are on holiday.
At £7-a-night per coop guests will be treated to a variety of foods, including watermelon, mixed corn and chicken pellets.
Julie Smith, from Kent, launched the hotel when she realised how difficult it is for owners to find people to look after their hens while they're away.
She said: "I really enjoyed looking after my own hens, but then I stated looking after some friends' hens when they were on holiday.
"I realised there was a niche in the market and launched Fowlty Towers."
Hens are let out once a day at the hotel, and also have the use of a small run outside.
"We use plastic Eglu cubes with 3ft-long runs attached to them and they are about as fox-proof as you can get," Julie said.
With around 700,000 Brits now owning hens, including celebrities Jamie Oliver and Liz Hurley, chick-lovers will be able to holiday worry-free, knowing their hens are treated to a luxury stay at Fowlty Towers.
