'"If it's a boy, we're going to have to call him Christian," I laughed at my husband, Simon, waving the pregnancy test in his face.
Given I'd missed a few pills and we'd gone from having sex once a week to more than once a day, neither of us should have been so surprised to see those two blue lines.
Like hundreds of couples across the country we had 'Fifty Shades of Grey' to thank for the surge in our sex life. I'd been hooked since my sister-in-law started raving about the book back in May, and got Simon to pick me up a copy from the supermarket.
It took me a few days to reach the first sex scene, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I started texting Simon to come home for lunch, then dragging him straight to the bedroom instead. It was passionate and kinky, like we'd just met all over again.
It wasn't just the sex I was into – I liked the love story. It reminded me of when we first met when I was 23, still quite young and naïve. At 29, Simon had seemed more worldly and experienced, and he was very persistent in pursuing me, much like Mr Grey.
It's so easy to get into a rut and routine when you've got three kids, but the books have reawakened a side of our relationship we'd started to forget. Simon's been so intrigued that he's now reading the trilogy for a second time.
It's definitely given him ideas. He came home a few weeks ago saying he had a present for me and I thought it might be shoes – instead, he produced some silver love eggs!'
