British Pie Week recipe: Easy bake Vegetarian Mustard & Cheese Pies

If you really need an excuse to tuck into a pie, then make sure you get involved with British Pie Week, which has just kicked off. We love this recipe for this tasty vegetarian pie which combines cheese with mustard.

This easy recipe for individual mustard and cheese pies proves just how easy they are to make at home. Yummy cheddar, onion and wholegrain mustard make up this tasty filling, which is then encased in irresistible shortcrust pastry.



1 Roll out the pastry on a floured surface, and use a cutter to fit your pie tins.

2 Grate the onion and cheddar into a bowl.

3 Add the mustard and a little milk, stir well, and then fill the pie tins.

4 Cut out pie tops making sure the edges are sealed and there is a little opening in the top of each pie.

5 Brush with milk and bake for approximately 25 minutes at 190°C.
