Recipe for a Creamy Berry and Honey Porridge that's just 258 calories!

National Breakfast Week kicks off 25 January and if you need some inspo for your morning meal, then how about trying this creamy berry porridge?

Rather than using full-fat cream, it uses a lower fat alternative meaning a serving is just 258 calories. But not comprising on flavour, its sweet compote concoction of berries and honey will mean you'll never want to skip brekkie again!

1 First make the compote: Place the berries and honey in a small pan and gently bring to the boil, simmering gently until the berries have softened. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.

2 To make the porridge: Place the oats and water together in a non-stick pan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer over a gentle heat for 4 – 5 mins, stirring occasionally until the mixture has thickened.

3 Add in the cream substitute and stir in until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Remove from the heat.

4 Serve in bowls, topped with the compote.
