An autumnal recipe: Tasty Apple and Pear Pork Loin Steaks

You can't go wrong with pork chops for dinner and this gorgeous recipe pairs it with a grilled autumnal fruits for a lovely twist.

This recipe comes courtesy of our friends at Aldi and it uses tender loin pork cuts, which are cooked in a paprika and garlic glaze, while juicy pears and apples are served alongside for a fruity concoction.

Whip up some roast potatoes and tuck into this delightful seasonal meal.


  • 2 pears cored and cut into wedges
  • 2 apples cored and cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon of ground black pepper
  • 2 pork loin steaks
  • For the glaze:
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 70g of fresh coriander
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon of paprika
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste


1 Heat a grill pan over high heat.

2 In a medium bowl, combine the pears, apples, olive oil, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Toss until fruit is coated and grill until tender.

3 To make the glaze: In a blender, purée 2 cups of the fruit combination. Add the glaze ingredients, process until smooth. And season to taste with salt and pepper.

4 Reheat the grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the pork loin steaks with the glaze and grill on each side. Continue basting pork with glaze until cooked.

5 Allow the pork to rest for five minutes, carve and serve with the remaining grilled fruit.
