World Cup food for kids: easy recipe for Apple, Cheddar & Tuna Pitas

Already planning your World Cup get-togethers? These easy to make Apple Cheddar and Tuna Pitas are something a bit different and will go down well with footy fans.

Swapping normal bread for pitas, tuna, apple and cheddar are combined with mayo for a filling with a difference. Try them - and then you can have a go at experimenting with your own fillings.

Apple, cheddar and tuna pitas

  • 2 x 190g cans of tuna
  • 4 dollops of Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
  • 115g of celery
  • 1/4 apple
  • 25g dried cranberries
  • 25g walnuts
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 red onion (optional)
  • 2 whole wheat or plain pita breads


1 Combine all the ingredients together (except from the pita breads) in a medium bowl.

2 Cut the pita breads in half and evenly stuff them with the tuna mixture.

3 Serve with a lettuce salad for a tasty lunch.
