One for meat lovers - a quick recipe for Steak and Peppercorn Sauce

Steak lovers, pay attention! We've got a really easy recipe for getting the perfect steak.

Peppercorn sauce is our favourite accompaniment to a juicy steak and this uses a "cheat" sauce courtesy of Knorr – making this ideal for a quick supper. Serve with salad and chips for a satisfying dinner.

Steak with peppercorn sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 sirloin or fillet steaks
  • 1 Knorr Three Peppercorn Flavour Pot
  • 200ml single cream
  • ½ beef stock cube, crumbled


1 Heat the oil in a heavy based pan and cook the steaks for 2 minutes on a high heat, turning them once.

2 Reduce the heat and cook for a further 5 minutes for rare steaks, 8-10 for medium-rare and 12 minutes for well-done (depending on weight and thickness).

3 Remove the steaks from the pan and place on a hot serving dish.

4 Reduce the heat and add the peppercorn pot to the pan with the cream and stock cube until dissolved and heated through – including any juices from the steaks.

5 Pour the sauce over the steaks and serve immediately with chips and mixed salad.
