Ian Beale's son will be heading back to Walford later this year as part of an explosive storyline that will change the lives of the Beale family forever.
According to our colleagues over at Digital Spy, Steven will be back in Albert Square after an eight-year absence, with actor Aaron Sidwell reprising the role.
Aaron played the troubled character in 2007 and 2008, but Steven has featured in the show on and off since his birth in 1989.
Most notably, one of Steven's biggest storylines saw him kidnap Ian and accidentally shoot his step-mother Jane.
Fans of the soap already know that John Partridge will be back as Jane's brother Christian Clarke, and Lynda Baron as Jane's mother Linda, as part of the "explosive" storyline.
Meanwhile, it is thought Jacqueline Jossa's return as Lauren Branning will also be linked. She recently teased that she would be making a "dramatic" and "shock" return to the soap.
Viewers last saw Lauren on screen in February last year, when she was pregnant and left Walford to start a new life with Peter Beale in New Zealand. She briefly returned for her father Max Branning's murder trial in September, and to give birth to son Louie.
