EastEnders, Corrie, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks: we take a look at tonight's top soap stories…

EastEnders, BBC1, 8pm

Stacey goes after an upset Kyle and assures him she hasn't revealed his secret. She quickly realises he wants to be alone though and leaves him with his thoughts.

Back at home later Stacey walks in on Kyle and Soph arguing and when Soph storms off, supportive Stace tries to get her brother to open up. As he confesses he's happier in Walford, but he does miss his mum, Stacey decides to do something about it – she calls Alison and tells Kyle his mum is visiting tomorrow. Will it be a happy reunion?

Coronation Street, ITV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm

Nick goes to his appointment with the consultant and admits he's scared of lashing out at Carla like he did with Leanne. The consultant recommends an MRI scan, but points out it's impossible to give an exact diagnosis, which upsets Nick.

When he gets home and Carla tells him she's never been happier, he's forced to hide his anxiety. She then suggests they try on their wedding rings and Nick gets emotional.

He later tries to make a cup of tea, but when he accidentally pours boiling water over his hand, he loses his temper and hurls the mug at the wall – catching Carla in the crossfire. Will he explain what's really going on?

Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm

The nurses at the hospital are all telling David to relax after his operation, but he wants to get up and about and on the move.

Back in the village, Leyla tries to make excuses to Jacob as to why David might not be at his football match later. But when Pollard goes to the hospital, he finds David's bed empty and it's soon discovered he's discharged himself.

David returns to the shop and oblivious Jacob is thrilled he's back and can watch him play footie later. But is David really well enough to be home? And can he keep the truth from Jacob for much longer?

Hollyoaks, C4, 6.30pm

Joe isn't coping at all and despite Freddie's attempts to help him, he still can't bring himself to carry on as normal.
