But, he had to fight to continue on the show during the knockout round on Saturday (5 March).

Pitted against 17-year-old Faith Nelson, coach Paloma Faith had a tough choice to make after their impressive version of Jennifer Hudson's 'Spotlight'.

But, after much soul searching, Paloma chose the young girl.

However, Ricky Wilson jumped at the chance of 'stealing' Kevin for his own team!

After the tense showdown, asked Kevin why he was so shy, to which he replied: "'I think like coming onto this I just felt like really, like I could really end up with egg on my face."

After the show aired, Kevin thanked the coaches and fellow contestant Faith, tweeting: "Thank you so much to @Rickontour for believing in me x @Palomafaith for being amazing support and @MissFaithee, friends forever."

He added: "I won't let you down mate @Rickontour x."

Dad of two Kevin first found fame on ITV talent show Popstars, alongside Michelle Heaton, Tony Lundon, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young. The 'runner-up band', they eventually became more successful than the winning group, Hear'Say.

Liberty X achieved 10 Top 20 singles from 2001 to 2007, and reformed in 2012 for ITV2 show, The Big Reunion.

However, it was during this time that they collectively decided it would be a short-term reunion to give their fans a final goodbye.

During Kevin's time on The Voice, his former Liberty X bandmates have been showing their support on Twitter.
