Mr Selfridge, Harry and Lady Mae, Fri 8 Jan

The last ever series of Mr Selfridge begins on ITV tonight and it's 1928, nine years after we last saw Harry, who's now at the pinnacle of his power and celebrity status.

Harry has commissioned a new monument at the front of the store, the 'Queen of Time', an ornate clock, but will it provide the positive and lasting legacy Harry hopes?

At home, his mother is as supportive as ever, he has a new granddaughter who he adores and lively Violette now lives in Paris. But his son and heir Gordon is distant from his father and a meeting between them turns sour when Harry fails to show up.

He's not turned up because Lady Mae is back in London hurt and humiliated. She reveals her husband has left her for a younger woman and her marriage is over. Can Harry help Mae like she first helped him when he arrived in London? And does she really want to start afresh in the city?

Mr Selfridge, ITV, 9pm
