Viewers haven't seen or heard from Glenda since her family sensationally turned their backs on her when her affair with Phil Mitchell and Ian Beale was exposed back in March 2011.
But, early next year, Glenda will step back in Walford. Soap bosses are keeping details of her return top secret, but her arrival will come following a difficult Christmas for the Mitchells.
Glenda's daughters, Roxy and Ronnie, are bitterly feuding and both sisters are at crisis point. Then Roxy and Dean's relationship will take a turn for the worse when he attacks her.
Elsewhere, Ronnie's feud with Vincent will continue, which is set to reach dangerous levels.
Glenda will be in the midst of all the drama, but what brings her back?
Well, while we have to wait to find out, Glenda isn't the only character making a return to Albert Square.
Phil Mitchell's feisty daughter Louise will also turn up in Walford. Now played by Tilly Keeper, bosses are also keeping her storyline a secret, but with Phil struggling to control his drinking, her return promises to cause a stir.
Louise, daughter of Phil and Lisa Fowler, was last seen in August 2010. Now grown up, the 14-year-old has a fraught relationship with her mum and is determined to become a true Mitchell.
Talking about her new role, Tilly said: "I am so thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders, especially to be joining the Mitchell clan! It's a dream come true and I can't wait to get stuck into the role and see what lies in store for Louise."
Louise will be on screen early next year.
