Jane is determined to make it the best Christmas ever and particularly special for Kathy, despite being in pain from her altercation with Bobby. She invites the Mitchells over for dinner on the day so Kathy can have both her sons with her, but Phil's less than pleased by the suggestion.
With Ben growing increasingly distant from his dad, he tells Phil he'll go alone with Abi. As Phil drowns his sorrows in the bottom of a bottle of scotch, a frustrated Sharon puts her foot down and tells Jane they'll all be at the Beales' for Christmas dinner. Do we smell disaster?
Coronation Street, ITV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm
Tracy receives another visiting order from Rob, but she has no idea Robert is planning to propose to her. Tracy heads off to see Rob and is pleased when he tells her he might be getting released and he wants them to start again.
With Rob putting pressure on her to tell him she'll wait for him, Tracy suddenly realises she's supposed to be at Amy's violin concert and rushes off, leaving Rob frustrated.
Back home, Tracy finds a very upset Amy and an angry Ken and Robert. Robert demands to know where she's been, but as she feeds him a pack of lies, she then goes to call Rob and tells him she still loves him. Pleased it's all falling into place, Rob phones Robert and asks him to visit – what is Rob up to now?
Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm
Laurel's stunned and heartbroken as Ashley explains his dementia diagnosis and tells her the prognosis isn't good. He tells her he loves her, but he can't be with her.
A distraught Laurel takes in the enormity of what's happening and goes off to process it. She privately confesses the truth to her father, and he warns Laurel to be careful how much she takes on, knowing her previous problems with alcohol aren't that far behind her.
As Ashley prays in the church, he suddenly comes to a realisation of his own. He heads out to find Laurel, can he really get through this without her?
Hollyoaks, C4, 6.30pm
Ste's spent the night asleep outside in the freezing cold after another binge and when Ziggy and Celine find him, they rush him to hospital. Tegan is horrified to hear if Ste doesn't start looking after himself he will die.
As he confesses to his sister he's not been taking his medication, Tegan begs him to start as she can't bear to lose anyone else.
Harry is alarmed to see how ill Ste looks and makes Ste promise not to take drugs again. Ste agrees – as long as they can be together. What will Harry say? And how will Tony react when Harry introduces him to his boyfriend?
