The John Lewis commercial has become one of the most anticipated parts of Christmas thanks to its ability to always make us a bit teary eyed.
And this year is no different.
Get ready to weep…
The haunting and very sweet advert is all about the Man on the Moon and one little girl's quest to get in touch with him. But no mater what she tries, it just doesn't work… and the little old man remains all alone on his solitary moon.
Until Christmas day, when the sad, scruffy man gets a parcel attached to helium balloons. Inside is a telescope allowing him to see the little girl on earth and he's not alone anymore.
The old man sheds a tear. And so do we!
The beautiful song in the background may sound familiar: it is a cover version of Oasis' track 'Half The World Away', which has been performed by relative unknown Aurora.
John Lewis is hoping this year's Christmas ad will help raise awareness for those who may be alone this festive series. It aims to raise money for Age UK and encourage people to check in on elderly neighbours and others facing a lonely Christmas season.
