Brooklyn is a profoundly moving period drama film telling the story of a young Irish woman navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn.

Saoirse Ronan plays young immigrant Eilis Lacey who leaves her mother's home in a small town in Ireland after being lured by the promise of the USA where she strives to forge a new life for herself, finding work and love in the process.

Once arriving on the shores of New York City, any sign of homesickness soon diminishes as Eilis is swept away by a new romance.

We've been given a world exclusive clip from Brooklyn ahead of its release next month, showing Eilis arriving at a packed beach where she has to rely on boyfriend Tony (Emory Cohen) to hold up a towel as she changes into her swimsuit.

Watch the exclusive clip below:

While Eilis is wrapped up in her new life in Brooklyn, a family tragedy soon brings her back to Ireland where she finds herself confronting a terrible dilemma - a heart-breaking choice between two men and two countries.

Brooklyn sees a stellar line-up of stars including Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent. The film is adapted from Colm Tóibín's New York Times Bestseller.

Brooklyn is out in UK Cinemas on 6 November.
