Jamie will star in the celebrity edition of the show in aid of Channel 4's Stand Up to Cancer
Jamie tells Alan Carr on tonight's Chatty Man: "It's such a great cause and I love the show. They asked me to do it and I thought, I love dating. Dating is scary though isn't it? I kind of thought it would be fun to put me in that shark tank. I did it and it was good fun and I got to meet this guy (Fred) who is just a philosopher about love. He is awesome, like a genie."
While Jamie says he enjoyed the show, he admitted he had to be careful what he said because he was aware of the cameras.
"It was awesome," he continues. "And it's great food and great time. And you are filmed the entire time. It's difficult right because on a date you almost say what you want but on First Dates there are cameras everywhere so you have to be careful."
Maître d' Fred Sirieix, who welcomes the hopeful singletons at his restaurant, also tells Alan that Jamie's date was "very guarded and had her cards very close to her chest. She didn't want to say anything".
Of course, over in MIC, we've seen the cheeky reality star lay his cards on the table for co-star Jess Woodley. Despite getting close over the summer in Los Angeles, Jess said she didn't have the same feelings for him. But, a sneak preview of the new series sees Jamie admit to sleeping with Jess back in Chelsea.
X Factor star Alexandra Burke and TV presenter Anthea Turner are also taking part in Celebrity First Dates.
Tonight's Chatty Man will be a Stand Up To Cancer special at 10pm on Channel 4. Celebrity First Dates airs on Monday 12 October at 9pm on Channel 4.
