Almost two weeks ago viewers watched Ross get killed off by his brother Pete, as the pair broke out into a fight after Pete found out about Ross' affair with his wife Debbie Dingle.
Fans were GUTTED to discover Ross would meet a tragic end, in what was a nail-biting week of the soap's summer fate storyline.
A petition, started by fan Christopher Bell, reads: "Please sign this Petition to let #Emmerdale cast, producers and everyone involved how much we all miss Michael Parr AKA 'Ross Barton' and that they should bring him back on our TV screens."
"Since joining Emmerdale, Michael Parr has had involvement in some incredible and heart-warming storylines, most recently the departure of Donna Windsor. I will do my upmost to ensure this Petition reaches the producers of Emmerdale. Is Ross Barton really dead, will he make a shock return?
"One thing that's for sure; Michael Parr made a huge impact to Emmerdale and is solely missed by thousands of fans."
Despite the fact that Ross is supposed to be dead, there are many soap fans (including us) who are hoping Ross may actually be alive, and maybe this could be part of a bigger storyline which would see him sensationally return a few months down the line.
Only there's one problem, Michael - who joined Emmerdale in 2013 - has already announced via Twitter that he's got a new job!
"Off to London now," he tweeted on Friday (14 August). "Got a new job, can't say what it is but when we start rehearsals I'll let you know."
A new job doesn't mean he won't return to Emmerdale at a later date, right? Even if Ross is supposed to be dead... (Still in denial).
Even in video message after his on-screen exit, Michael said of his shock departure: "I'm sorry that I've had to keep this one a secret from you guys! Thank you so much for all your support over the last couple of years. I've had so much fun playing Ross. Thank you, keep watching the show, stay tuned and it's goodbye from me!"
