The Notebook, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, is being turned into a TV series.

That roller-coaster of a romance that had us all shedding a bucketload of tears is reportedly being remade for the small screen. Tissues at the ready everyone!

According to E! News, CW has a script in development with The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks as executive producer. So it's basically guaranteed to be a huge tearjerker and make us feel every emotion under the sun.

The show will fill in extra details on what happens in the lives of Noah and Allie after they reunite following the Second World War.

The plot is reported as follows" "This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina."

After the book and film adaptation being such huge hits, we wonder if a TV series could ever be quite as good? And there's another big question, could the story work as well without Ryan and Rachel playing the leading roles?!
