Robbie - son of Carol and sister of Sonia and Bianca - was last seen on our screens in February 2010 when he walked Bianca down the aisle at her wedding.

He then returned to his family in India after revealing that his wife, Nita, was six months pregnant.

Speaking about his upcoming return, Dean said: "I am honoured that Dominic and all at EastEnders have decided to open the door and find out where Robbie's been and what he's been up to."

Robbie's return will pave the way for Lindsey Coulson's exit, who is leaving the soap as Carol Jackson, five years after making a return.

Bosses are staying tight-lipped about Carol's departure but Lindsey will film her final scenes later this year.

Dean, who first appeared on EastEnders in 1993, took part in the sixth series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2006. He finished in fifth place and his Bushtucker Trials were dubbed some of the funniest in the show's history.
