Confirming the commission, Chris tweeted: "TFi Friday is indeed coming back for a short but perfectly formed run of eight shows pre Christmas."

During the special revival, which aired on 12 June, Chris was joined by the likes of Liam Gallagher, Blur, Amanda Seyfried, Lewis Hamilton and Jeremy Clarkson.

After being recently appointed as the new host of Top Gear, and now TFI Friday, this year is shaping up to be pretty busy for the TV presenter.

As a result of his new schedule, Chris quit his Friday afternoon slot on The One Show, however, he will still be doing his presenting slot on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

He is expected to begin filming Top Gear in the next few weeks, but his co-hosts are yet to be revealed.
