The actress, 23, has been written out of the long-running serial drama and will leave later this year.
In a statement released on Sunday (14 June), she said: "I've had the most amazing time at EastEnders, having been involved in some exciting storylines - including giving birth in a live scene!"
She added: "I'll miss everyone here and am looking forward to the future."
Executive Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: "We all love Danielle and she and Lola have been a big part of EastEnders over the past four years.
"Danielle is a fantastic actress and I genuinely look forward to seeing her shine in future roles away from the Square."
She joined the show in 2011 as Billy Mitchell's granddaughter. Her storylines included becoming pregnant at the age of 16 by Ben Mitchell, a live birth scene, and her subsequent custody battle for daughter Lexi.
Before landing her dream role in the soap, Danielle appeared in TV series Jamie's Dream School, in which Jamie Olivier attempted to persuade 20 young people to give education a second chance.
In the show, we were told how she had only got one GCSE due to an illness which forced her to miss lots of school.
EastEnders continues on Monday (15 June) at 8pm on BBC1.
