Social media went into meltdown back in February during EastEnders' live 30th anniversary episode when Kathy (played by Gillian Taylforth) made a shock return from the dead.
Now executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has teased her return.
He told a group of reporters at the Bafta TV Awards nominations party on Wednesday night (22 April): "We've storylined her return properly. You'll see a flash of Kathy again fairly soon and then boom! She's already filmed her next little tease."
Kathy was supposed to have died in a car accident back in 2006 but she came 'back from the dead' to greet ex-husband Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden). In a scene on the banks of the Thames, Phil told her not to return to Albert Square.
While Gillian has filmed a new scene, there is yet to be a scene between Kathy and her son Ian Beale (played by Adam Woodyatt).
"It's a big, big story with a lot of twists and turns, as you've come to expect from us," continued Dominic. "It's going to draw in lots of different families from around the Square and it's not going to be easy for her to come back."
Dominic has already described Kathy's return as "earth-shattering", so we can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
Gillian was last seen in Hollyoaks as Sandy Roscoe. She also starred on the 11th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2013.
Gillian said in February: "When executive producer Dominic approached me with his plan, I was so shocked I got into my car and burst into tears! Kathy has always been so close to my heart and it's absolutely wonderful to be returning to the show and reprising the role."
