Corrie star Zaraah Abrahams lands role in US drama The Knick

Former Coronation Street star Zaraah Abrahams is heading to Hollywood after landing a role in hit US drama The Knick.

Zaarah appeared as Joanne Jackson in the ITV soap until 2007, and now fans can see her in the hospital drama, which will be broadcast in the UK on Sky.

Zaarah is taking on the role of Opal in season two of the show, which is set in the fictional Knickerbocker Hospital during the early twentieth century.

The actress joins a growing list of soap stars breaking into the US. Fellow Corrie star Georgia May Foote has been linked to a new US drama, while EastEnders stars Ben Hardy and Sam Strike have both landed US film roles.

Zaarah acting credits include Waterloo Road and Girls In Love.

She also took part in Dancing On Ice in 2008, and she returned as a contestant for the last All Star series in 2014.
