Kicking off tonight, each programme will feature live elements before a fully live instalment on Friday night. And if that's not enough, viewers are finally going to discover who killed Lucy Beale!
To celebrate the milestone anniversary, BBC One bosses have released some fun facts about the cast and past storylines.
Did you know, since EastEnders began in 1985, there have been a whopping 70 deaths - and 16 of those were murders. Put like that, Lucy didn't stand a chance!
The characters have also been involved in a staggering 44 storylines involving fires and 37 babies have been born in Albert Square.
But the best fact can be saved for Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale. Adam joined EastEnders in 1985 and he is the only star to have appeared on the show continuously since the first episode.
Despite his long-serving career, Adam is still feeling twitchy about going live in front of the nation this week.
After receiving a good luck message from Coronation Street's Beverley Callard, he replied: "Thank you. Nothing like going live to make you learn your lines!!"
