Mark Wright wins The Apprentice as Nick Hewer bows out

Lord Alan Sugar crowned Mark Wright as his new business partner last night as the 10th series of The Apprentice came to a close.

Mark went head-to-head with fellow finalist and hosiery entrepreneur Bianca Miller, however Lord Sugar felt his digital marketing business was the way forward.

But while it was a jubilant evening for Aussie Mark, it was also tinged by sadness - as Nick Hewer bowed out of the show after 10 years.

Nick has worked as Lord Sugar's adviser on the BBC One series since the beginning and fans are gutted the 70-year-old has decided to retire from the boardroom.

Last night, on spin-off show You're Hired, Nick croaked out an emotional goodbye, as he was suffering from laryngitis. He said: "Thank you, good luck and goodnight."

Lord Sugar later tweeted: "Thanks for everything Nick."

The BBC have also paid tribute to the star, by posting several funny pictures of Nick on Twitter. Alongside the snaps, the caption reads: "Nick Hewer can say more with one expression than many can say with a thousand words. We'll miss you. #TheApprentice."

Meanwhile, Mark has told his supporters that he is ready to crack on with launching his new business - Climb Online. After he was unveiled as the winner, Mark tweeted: "Time to take things to the next level! #apprentice #winner #2014."
