Mark - who now goes by his full name Markus - has been busy in the recording studio perfecting his forthcoming record, which is due for release in 2015.
The Irish singer has also announced that he will be performing an intimate concert for fans in London in March and they will get to hear firsthand his new "autobiographical" music.
Markus said: "It's always more daunting to write and perform songs that are autobiographical.
"I tend to write more when I'm feeling down or when something bad happens as it can be the only way to express myself.
"I'm really looking forward to sharing the new songs with the fans."
Alongside his Westlife bandmates - Kian Egan, Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and, originally, Brian McFadden - Markus sold a whopping 50 million records during their 14 years together. Westlife split in 2012.
Markus will be performing at Scala, London, on 4 March. Tickets are on sale from 9am tomorrow (19 December) at www.livenation.co.uk.
