Cheryl achieved her fifth No 1 with 'I Don't Care' last week, however she has now bumped down to fourth position in the UK Official Singles Chart thanks to Gareth and his team of celebrities.
Famous faces including Radio 1's Alice Levine, Gavin and Stacey's Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, and Great British Bake-Off's Mel Giedroyc, recorded a cover of Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' for this year's CiN appeal.
Last night, the gang discovered they had sailed straight to No 1 with the single and shared their joy with fans on social media.
Gareth, however, took time out to say sorry to Cheryl for pinching her position along with Ed Sheeran, who reached No 2 with 'Thinking Out Loud', and One Direction, whose single 'Steal My Girl' placed at No 3.
He tweeted: "Sorry Cheryl. Sorry Ed. Sorry One Direction. This one's for the kids, actually. Thank you all. @bbccin #number1."
Meanwhile, the Official Charts Company shared a photo of Gareth and retired footballer Fabrice Muamba holding up framed copies of their single. Written alongside it was the comment: "Do you think @fmuamba and @GarethMalone are happy about being #Number1?"
Something tells us yes, they are indeed!
Gareth and his All Star Choir performed 'Wake Me Up' during Friday night's Children in Need show (14 November). However, as of this morning, a new charity single has gone on sale.
After Bob Geldof premiered the video last night, Band Aid 30's reworking of 'Do They Know It's Christmas' went on sale at 8am to raise money for the Ebola charity appeal.
