The intrepid TV adventurer is off to Namibia in the new series of Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild where he'll stay with a family who live on a remote farm.

In the deep desert sand dunes of Namibia, Ben goes to stay with 50-year old Gideon David and his young family in the largest conservation area on the continent. A master bushman, Gideon quit his life as an insurance broker in the city for the desert.

It's harsh and relentless work that Ben readily embraces, but farm life in temperatures pushing 40 degrees is tough. He tends over 150 animals, repairs baboon damage to water pipes and learns how to castrate a sheep with his teeth! Ew!

Ben also witnesses the reality of raising children in these conditions – from hand-washing nappies to learning vital survival skills, it's an eye-opener.
