It's the last in the series of the poignant World War One drama The Passing Bells tonight and Tommy and Michael's minds are drifting ever more towards the memory of home.

It's 1918, and with rumours of peace flying round, the boys' parents struggle to control their excitement at the prospect of seeing their sons again. Tommy is celebrating the birth of his child and Michael's letters from Katie are keeping him going.

The Passing Bells, Fri 7 Nov

But just as everything is looking rosy, a bomb takes out a barbed wire fence and Tommy volunteers to mend it. He approaches cautiously, but then he spots Michael on the other side of the gap. They stare at each other in horror, before instinct takes over. Will they make it out of the war in one piece?
