Broadmoor, ITV, Wed 5 Nov

The most famous high security hospital in the world, Broadmoor, has allowed television cameras unprecedented access for a new documentary.

We'll get to see the inner-most workings of the iconic institution that helps treat severely mentally disordered patients, many of whom are violent offenders, such as Charles Bronson, Ronnie Kray and Peter Sutcliffe.

What goes on behind the brick walls? How are patients treated? What do they do each day and who works with them?

Cameras are present when one patient refuses medication and it has to be forcibly administered. Another patient with a history of violence on the intensive care ward refuses to return to his room and has to be physically restrained. And a few other patients open up about their experiences.

It won't be comfortable viewing, but it'll definitely be compelling.

Broadmoor, ITV, 9pm
