After the two-part opener, The Apprentice will resume airing every Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One. Meanwhile, spin-off show The Apprentice: You're Fired will air at 10pm on BBC Two.

Lord Sugar's announcement certainly excited fans of the popular reality TV series, in which a group of aspiring businessmen and women compete for the chance to work with the British business mogul.

While the 67-year-old will be putting the new batch of apprentices through their paces with a series of trials and challenges, Nick Hewer and Karren Brady will once again return as Lord Sugar's advisers.

Last year's series was won by Dr Leah Totton, who received a £250,000 cash sum to help launch her first cosmetic clinic.

We can't wait to hear Lord Sugar say "You're fired!" again!

For those of us counting down the days, BBC One will air a special show on Monday 13 October at 10.35pm showing classic moments and memorable characters since the series began in 2005.
