X Factor's Ben Haenow has certainly left an impression on the judges since auditioning, but one judge who has definitely left their impression on him is Geordie beauty, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

After auditioning in front of the judging panel for his first audition, Ben, a van driver from Croydon, couldn't resist giving Chezza a quick peck before he left - much to the envy of thousands of men across the nation!

Recalling the moment he puckered up to Cheryl, Ben said: "It was like a dream come true."

Hmm Ben, we're not so sure you're girlfriend would be too happy about that!

But not stopping there, Ben added: "She smelled like an angel. She's so beautiful!"

After impressing the judges during his room audition with a rendition of 'Ain't No Sunshine', Ben sailed through to Boot Camp.

Comparing the brutal 'six chair challenge' to a "Gladiators battle", it sounds like Ben has been having a much easier time with Simon and his fellow hopefuls in the overs category... so far, that is!

He, like the rest of the overs, will be battling it out for a spot in Simon's final three and a place in the live shows.

Living the LA lifestyle, Ben has had his first taste of the high life and even went to see X Factor's biggest boyband One Direction perform live at the Rose Bowl.

Even though the 29-year-old admits he's not the biggest 1D fan (what?!), he did say that the boys had him very impressed.

"To see those five lads perform with 90,000 people eating out of the palm of their hands was sick, you can't knock them for that. To think they were doing this four years ago, it's amazing."

And with the possibility that this could now be him, Ben is preparing for that crucial audition in front of Simon and guest mentor Sinitta.

But, what does he make of his competition?

"The Overs feels like a really strong category, for me Jay James is my biggest rival in the competition, we both have a bluesy voice... I never thought I would have got this far."
