Brian confirmed the news via his Twitter account yesterday, telling fans: "Excited to be heading back to help return X Factor to its glory! Let's do this!"
Brian will return to the ITV series for the live shows, so no doubt we'll be seeing plenty of rather amazing performances and backdrops this series.
He left the X Factor in the UK in 2010 to follow Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini to the US version, which ran for three seasons.
American-born Brian, 37, has worked with a string of famous names including Britney Spears, Beyoncé and Mariah Carey. He's also worked on America's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance?
Brian briefly appeared as a judge on X Factor in 2007, replacing Louis Walsh, but then stepped down and was named creative director.
X Factor continues Saturday night on ITV.
