BBC Children in Need is back and this year we're getting encouraged to raise money by baking and eating cake. Sounds good right?

The charity has teamed up with the likes of Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Terry Wogan to get Britain baking and collecting dosh for this great cause.

Each celeb will champion one of Britain's best cakes out there. All you've got to do is choose the team you want to get behind and whip up your chosen baking treat, before selling them at a cake sale.

Fancy joining in? Here are your six cake options…

Sir Terry Wogan has opted to be #TeamLemonDrizzle - check out this easy recipe here. Talking about his choice, he said: "My own wife's lemon drizzle cake is a thing of beauty, so, I am asking you, the Great British public, to get behind me and bake, bake, bake, to make a lemon drizzle to remember."

Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton is #TeamCarrotCake and we've got a great Mary Berry recipe for one here. Speaking about her team, she said: "Come on everyone, I want you to join me in baking a delicious carrot cake! It'll be fun to throw on an apron and get a bit messy whilst becoming a baking hero for Pudsey, every penny your carrot cake raises goes straight to projects supporting children and young people right here in the UK."

Our other Radio 1 fave, Nick Grimshaw, will be rooting for #TeamChocolateCake and made a sly dig at fellow rival, Terry Wogan: "I want you to join me in baking a delicious chocolate cake. We all know chocolate cake is better than Sir Terry's favourite, lemon drizzle, so join me and together we can help make a difference." Planning on joining Nick? This recipe will sell like hot cakes!

And Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly will be swapping the dance floor for the kitchen as #TeamVictoriaSponge. Make your own version of this classic cake here. Tess said: "As a nation we all love a slice of Victoria sponge cake. It has it all – it's light, it's jammy and it's perfect with a cup of tea."

Meanwhile The One Show presenter Alex Jones has opted for #TeamBattenberg: " I want you all to join Team Battenberg, but whatever team you decide to join will go on to help make a difference, so thank you."

And finally, Alex's co-host, Matt Baker, is also joining in, with a traditional fruit cake. He said: " I want you to join Team Fruit cake! What could be easier to raise lots of money for BBC Children in Need?" Get baking with our easy but tasty recipe here.
