Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills is the latest celebrity to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2014.

Scott joins a star studded line up for the latest series of the BBC show including Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, former TOWIE star Mark Wright, Blue singer Simon Webbe, This Morning's Alison Hammond, Andy Murray's mum Judy and ex Rugby pro Thom Evans.

Filling in for Nick Grimshaw on Radio 1's breakfast show this morning, Scott was joined by Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood as he confirmed he was the latest star to join the line up live on air.

He said: "My listeners are so used to me playing pranks that they're probably going to think this is just another one. It's not, I really am doing this!

"I'm honoured to be part of the biggest show on television and hoping this could be the start of a brand new skill for me. When I was younger, my Nan danced the foxtrot and waltz and it would be great for me to learn those dances, but I will be out of my comfort zone."

And just in case his listeners still needed reassurance that Scott will be taking to the floor, the DJ also took to Twitter to confirm his news.

He tweeted: "So yes it's true I am doing @bbcstrictly this year. Keeeeeep dancing. So excited/nervous."

Like Scott, wildlife presenter Steve Backshall was also confirmed for the show over the weekend.

Best known for tracking down the world's deadliest animals on Deadly 60, the CBBC star will now be swapping the jungle for the dancefloor as Steve announced he would be joining the show on Twitter yesterday (25 August).

He tweeted: "So the secret's out, my next big adventure is going to be @bbcstrictly definitely my scariest mission yet!"
