The actor, 42, is the eighth contestant to be announced for this year's competition.
Married dad-of-two Jake, who plays bad boy Max Branning in the BBC soap, says he is doing it for the dads!
He reveals: "I'm really relishing the prospect of hitting the Strictly dance floor this year.
"I'm doing it for all the dads out there and you never know, there's always a chance of being the first Walford resident to take home the Glitterball. Bring it on!"
Guilty crush Jake will follow in the footsteps of his on-screen brother Scott Maslen, who came fourth in 2010.
Jake joins an already stellar line-up so far, including reality TV star and DJ Mark Wright who was announced on Friday.
Also confirmed are The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, tennis coach - and Andy's mum! - Judy Murray, TV presenter Alison Hammond, ex-rugby player Thom Evans, Blue's Simon Webbe and Casualty star Sunetra Sarker.
So far, we think it's the sexiest cast yet! Can't wait until it starts in September!
