The last time a major sporting event came to the UK we all got behind it, and now we've got another one as The Commonwealth Games begins with its Opening Ceremony live from Glasgow.

Gary Lineker, Hazel Irvine and Clare Balding are the presenters as the extravaganza takes place at Celtic Park.

The Queen's Baton Relay comes to an end at the ceremony after visiting every Commonwealth nation in the lead up to the event. Then Her Majesty The Queen will declare the Games officially open.

More than 3000 volunteers will take part in what promises to be a spectacular occasion, which includes the Parade of Nations welcoming the athletes from the 71 countries taking part.
